The Time Framed horological sculpture presents a juxtaposition of classic art display and inventive process. This backless frame allows for the same exposure of watch components through natural magnification, presented as a hanging sculpture.

Expert curators with a true passion for horology source parts for Berd Vay’e from vintage timepieces, including everything from 19th-century backwind pocket watches to stop clocks once used by railroad conductors.

All the components – gears, barrels, wheels, springs, escapement wheels, pinions, bridges, and hands – are restored and polished. Berd Vay’e then meticulously positions and balances them in crystal-clear, shatter-resistant Lucite. The layering process used to achieve the floating effect requires more than a day to complete. Afterward, the sculpture is carefully baked. This prevents air bubbles and imperfections, resulting in a seamless sculpture.
