The new Klepcys DICE Racing is inspired by sporting competitions, especially motor racing. In fact, Cyrus is an official sponsor of the HAAS F1 team, featuring drivers Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen.
The brainchild of master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, the Klepcys DICE Racing boasts a revamped look that integrates carbon fiber, an innovative material the maison hasn’t used before The new version retains the original’s cushion-shaped case, which is now available in either polished or blackened titanium. Both new versions include carbon fiber bezels and will be produced in a limited series of 15 pieces each.
The Klepcys DICE is an innovative chronograph model from Cyrus. DICE – an acronym for Double Independent Chronograph Evolution – references the watch’s ability to measure two short time intervals independently or in synchrony. However, it should not be confused with the rattrapante version, where the two hands track the time of two events that start simultaneously but end at different times or indicate an intermediate elapsed time.
Thanks to the openworked architecture, the prestigious mechanics that power Klepcys DICE command center stage on the dial. The two column wheels are highlighted on the dial. Picked out in bright red and electric blue lacquer, they are placed at 12 and 6 o'clock, respectively. The unusual arrangement of the chronograph mechanism on the dial side reveals the motion of the finely decorated wheels, levers, and gears mounted on a double mainplate with a black micro-beaded PVD treatment.
The 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock – the star function of Klepcys DICE – is equipped with two vertically aligned hands in red and blue. Thanks to the bold colors, reading the two elapsed times is instantaneous. The independent hands track a graduated scale with markers at 15 and 30 minutes in alternating red and blue. The same red and blue color scheme is used for the two central seconds hands. The twin crowns are equipped with pushers that control the chronograph functions. Each is distinguished by either a red or blue anodized aluminum ring to select which chronograph will be activated.
